What's New at Labyrinth: 4/26/29
Welcome back, everyone. This weekend is going to be crazy with our Magic prerelease, but don't miss out on all these sweet new games!
Planets is a brand new world-building game where players each assemble their very own planet. Rather than a board, each player is handed a magnetic dodecahedron: their "planet core". Throughout the game, players attach continental plates to the core, adding mountains, oceans, deserts, forests, and more. Each new feature adds potential habitats for a wide variety of flora and fauna. The player who has the greatest biodiversity by the end of the game wins!
Deep in the woods, in hidden, sheltered clearings, the tiny animals of the forest have banded together to raise a society of their own, far from the prying eyes and lumbering feet of us larger folk. Tiny Towns is a hotly anticipated new city building game about making the most of meager space. Players must scrounge resources to build their town, but chose carefully--every empty space at the end of the game elicits a penalty!
Noctiluca is a colorful game of dice collection. Players are divers competing to collect the phosphorescent noctiluca, mysterious aquatic creatures rumored to have restorative powers. These are represented by translucent dice, scattered through different pools. Careful drafting is required to assemble sets of different colors. Can you arrange these beautiful creatures to win?
Legend of the Five Rings: Masters of the Court
In the Emerald Empire, the Crane Clan serve as the Emperor's elegant and deadly left hand. Political masterminds and fashion trendsetters, many resent and envy the Cranes for their beauty and their high-handed use of power. But with the deadliest duelists in Rokugan, one would be wise to watch their tongue around the Crane. Now, these political masterminds can lend their wise council to your cause with Masters of the Court, the new Legend of the Five Rings LCG Clan Pack.
Microbrew is a brand new, award-winning two player game about (you guessed it) brewing beer! The game is a blend of a worker placement and a puzzle game. Players will assign their workers to mash, brew, bottle, sell their product, and more. Unlike normal worker placements, workers can be placed at the same station together. Only with a deliberate action can another worker be ejected from a spot--but use this wisely, as the owner will be able to reassign that worker immediately! While your workers toil over the production, players also have to puzzle out the recipes in their kettle! Perfectly tuning a recipe to a customer will earn their loyalty, but is it worth the expense? A really cool new game in a compact tin.
And that's all for this week. Come back next week for more What's New at Labyrinth!
