What's New at Labyrinth 10/11/2019

Come check out these new and newly restocked games at Labyrinth!

Letter Jam

In a fashion reminiscent of Blind Man's Bluff or Hanabi, Letter Jam is a game in which players must hold their letter-card face away from themselves and toward the other players. The game plays with two to six players and was a big hit at GenCon this year, as a cooperative word game in which you must help each other figure out your individual letters in order to compose meaningful words from them.

From the designer who brought us The Mind!, Wolfgang Warsch's Illusion is now in stock at Labyrinth! It plays two to five players and requires them to see past the optical illusions on each card so that players may arrange cards in order of the most prominent color on each card. This may not be a new game but it is still a great one. Can you see through the illusions?

Res Arcana

Res Arcana has been restocked at Labyrinth. For those unfamiliar with the game, Res Arcana requires players to choose a mage, gather essences, craft unique artifacts, and use them to summon dragons, conquer places of power, and achieve victory! The game contains elements of card drafting, hand management, and variable player powers and plays with two to four and is considered a light to medium-weight game.

Sierra West

Sierra West is a deck-building and worker placement game of medium complexity. It can be played with one to four players and is highly modular, containing four different sets that allow you to modify the mode of play. In the game, players take on the role of expedition leader to a group of pioneers in the 1840s, heading out West toward California in search of opportunities for fortune and prosperity. In order to succeed and win the most victory points, players will take actions like claiming cards from the mountain, building cabins, gaining resources, and advancing their wagons. One really appealing aspect of the game is that it can be played under an hour once players become familiar with the rules and set up.

King of Tokyo Second Edition, Monster Pack 3: Cybertooth

Cybertooth — a giant two-legged robot that can transform into a fearsome sabertoothed tiger — is about to hit the town! Infused with the power of the ancient berserkers, Cybertooth will settle for nothing less than the tiger's share! Will you, too, succumb to the berserker fury? The Cybertooth Monster Pack introduces a new game component: the berserk die! You can use the berserk die in your games even if you play without Evolution cards or are not playing with Cybertooth. The Cybertooth Monster Pack is compatible with the King of Tokyo and King of New York base games, and with all their expansions.

Paladins of the West Kingdom

Paladins of the West Kingdom is a big worker-placement game in a little box. Fans of Raiders of the North Sea and Architects of the West Kingdom will not be disappointed by the latest installment in Shem Phillips' series. Like in the aforementioned titles, Paladins is full of unique choices and paths to victory. Players will choose which paladins to enlist, which outposts and fortifications to build, and which monks to commission all in an effort to fend off invaders from all borders--just to name a few of the choices available. Yet, despite all of these difficult-to-choose-from options for constructing your engine the most difficult task of all may just be fitting all of the pieces back into the box.

Quacks of Quedlinburg: The Herb Witches

The Herb Witches expansion adds one more player to the mix and adds all-new recipe books. The expansion also adds a couple new ingredients, as well as the herb witches, who may be able to lend a hand to those struggling with a recipe!

We're Doomed

It's back in stock at Labyrinth! We're Doomed is a fun, fast-paced game about the end of the world and about who gets to make it onto the rocket leaving said ending-world. Each player takes on the role of a political or ideological power that has a unique ability. Everyone pools resources together while working against a fifteen-minute sand timer to build the rocket and then the seats.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Devastator

Decks and strategies may come and go, but some cards are eternal! Duel Devastator is packed with 56 Ultra Rare cards that transcend individual strategies, headlined by spectacular new variant artwork of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries, Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, and Ghost Sister & Spooky Dogwood!

Skulk Hollow

Skulk Hollow is a 2-player, asymmetric, tactical combat game. Players use action cards to move their units, summon, and use special abilities. Play starts on an initial world map, but progresses to the Foxen player leaping onto the Guardian player board and taking out different parts of the character. The two players take the roles of either a towering behemoth of a Guardian trying to eliminate the clans of foxes who have been causing havoc on the countryside, or a band of foxen heroes out to vanquish the evil beast that has been terrorizing the land and reunite the four kingdoms of Børe. The Guardian wins the game by either eliminating the Foxen King, or by gaining enough Tribute. The Foxen Heroes win the game by eliminating the Guardian.

Villainous: Evil Comes Prepared

Evil Comes Prepared is a new expansion that comes with three new exciting villains, including Scar, Ratigan, and Yzma all of whom are ready to do all manner of mischief in order to achieve their unique goals.

Las Vegas Royale

Las Vegas Royale, the dice-rolling board game released earlier this year, is now back in stock at Labyrinth. Come on down and see what it's all about!

Shadowrun Sixth World: Core Rulebook

We now have the sixth edition of the Shadowrun Sixth World: Core Rulebook in stock! Come check it out at Labyrinth.

Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein is a competitive game of strategic monster building for 2-4 players, inspired by Mary Shelley's classic novel of gothic horror. In the game, the creature demands your help to accomplish what his own creator would not: to bring to life an abomination like itself, a companion to end its miserable solitude. This is a worker placement and resource management game that uses narrative elements to draw players in. The game ends when you succeed in bringing your creation to life or when the Captain kills the creature, whichever happens first. Then the player with the most points fulfills Frankenstein's dark legacy, becoming his heir, for good or ill...

Oombee Ball

The Oombee Ball is back in stock at Labyrinth. This is a great toy for 10 months through 36 months that teaches hand-eye-coordination and color identification.
